Motif No: 4 :- This is Jeanne Lugert tatted 3-D rose.... My first attempt with split rings!
I am not sure if the rose is just right and if I have done total justice to it... I really liked it so I thought of giving it a try.
A well known verse to describe art - Art for art's sake, with no purpose, for any purpose perverts art. But art achieves a purpose which is not its own.

It looks really good. Good job! split rings are fun. Your 3D rose actually looks better than my attempts.
Thanks Sherry, I totally agree Split rings are fun...
Will try and do some more tatting using split rings, just need some good and EASY patterns ;)
Your 3-D rose looks lovely. Congratulations on learning how to do split rings!
The 3D rose is beautiful. You did a great job with the split rings. Like Sherry, I have fun with them also.
It turned out just lovely! My first attempts at split rings were a bunch of caterpillars...the rose is much prettier than that.
Thanks so much... Split rings are fun when you get used to it... am glad i did total justice to the rose... it was one pretty thing.
Very pretty! I still haven't tried a split ring... it's on my list!
You can also do a variant of your dupatta edging, just do all split rings with one picot on one side (to sew onto the dupatta) and multiple picots on the other (for decoration).
Or make a bookmark that's two rows of split rings. You can even do 2 colors so the there's a border color & a center color.
